Sustainable urban form and residential development viability

Nowadays, architecture worldwide is experiencing a very important change. The environmental problem is forcing architecture to change in many ways.
The sustainable design has been approached in many different ways on every different country. It’s obvious that this difference on the approach have to do with the economical and social aspects of every country.

In the beginning, the design was sometimes compromised by the lack of diversity on sustainable objects and appliances for the building, everyday there are more and more products and appliances and also they’ve become more accessible economically speaking for everyone.

Sometimes we see facts about different countries and how they’re affecting the environment and what are they doing about it. What the facts don’t say is that some countries doesn’t have the resources so the approach is completely different. This strange factor, has provoked very interesting results, because in some cases when there’s no resources, instead of buying the products available on the market, they find solutions on the design itself.

One good example of what I’m trying to say is for example instead of using solar panels for the energy used by the air conditioning, you can find a design where the air conditioning is not even necessary.

I believe that the sustainable developments we see nowadays are every time more surprising and every time they work better and minimize more the impact, though there’s a lot of work to do, and I’m sure with time we’ll see even better results.
